TRANSITION, Grades 4-6*

TRANSITION: a season or period of time in which something undergoes a change and passes from one state, stage, form, or activity to another 4th-6th grade kids are in a transition from childhood to teen years. We want to provide an engaging and authentic ministry environment for pre-teen kids to learn to serve Jesus, understand and love God’s Word and have fun as they make friends with peers and adult mentors.

Each week in our pre-teen ministry, kids experience one of four ministry environments:

Boys/Girls Night Out

After Bible Study and prayer, boys and girls go their “separate ways” for hands on activities and fun. Sometimes girls make crafts or play games, boys might go outside or play an active game in a large space. It’s a favorite night for our kids.

W2: Worship and the Word: a more serious night of worship, Bible study and small group discussion and prayer.

K.I.D.S. (Kids in Divine Service)

We train kids how to serve in God’s house. When pre-teens attend K.I.D.S., they are placed on a team and trained to serve in that ministry for the following four to five Sunday mornings in the kids’ church service. Teams include: Helping Hands, Hospitality, Puppeteers, Opening Song Team and Media

BIG Nite!

The emphasis is on fun! Kids play games with each other, group games, Bible games and enjoy snacks. The fun is followed by Bible study, again with an emphasis on fun, hands-on learning. This is the perfect night for kids to bring a friend.

*6th grade is flexible. Parents can choose to have their 6th grader attend the Children’s Ministry opportunities or advance to the Student Ministries.
